Accessibility

Last updated: July 23, 2026 · V.I. Consignment

V.I. Consignment is committed to making our storefronts usable by everyone, including customers and consignors with disabilities.

Our commitment

We want every customer and consignor to be able to browse, shop, and manage their account on our Sites regardless of ability. We work to identify and remove accessibility barriers on an ongoing basis, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.

Standards we follow

We design and build our Sites with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the internationally recognized benchmark for digital accessibility. This includes semantic HTML and landmark structure, descriptive alt text for images, keyboard navigability, visible focus states, and sufficient color contrast.

British Columbia — Accessible British Columbia Act (ABCA)

As a business proudly based in British Columbia, we support the province's goal of becoming barrier-free by 2040. While we are currently a private enterprise operating outside the mandatory reporting requirements of the Accessible British Columbia Act (ABCA), we voluntarily align our digital properties with its principles, working to identify, remove, and prevent barriers so that all British Columbians have equal access to our Sites.

Ontario — Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

As a small business based in British Columbia that ships to and serves customers across Canada, including Ontario, we voluntarily align our digital properties with the intent of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, even where our size may place us outside its mandatory compliance thresholds. We are committed to meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.1 Level AA for our public-facing web content as part of this commitment.

Manitoba — Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA)

Similarly, for customers in Manitoba, we voluntarily align our practices with the goals of the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) and its accessibility standards, including customer service accessibility and accessible information and communication.

Canada — Accessible Canada Act (ACA)

On a national level, we align our digital development with the intent of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA), consistent with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard described above. If you experience a barrier while browsing any of our Sites or need an accommodation for your consignment process, please reach out using the contact details below and we'll work with you directly.

Accessibility features on our Sites

  • Descriptive alternative text for product and lifestyle images
  • Semantic landmarks (headers, navigation, main content, footer) for screen reader navigation
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, search, cart, and checkout flows
  • Visible focus indicators and logical tab order
  • Descriptive link and button labels (e.g. aria-label attributes) where visual context alone isn't sufficient
  • Text that resizes without loss of content or function

Feedback & accommodation requests

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on any of our Sites, or need an accommodation to shop with us or consign items (for example, an alternate format for a document, or assistance completing an order), please contact us. We aim to respond within 3 business days.
